I guess somebody at parlophone leaked my remix of kylie minogue "all the lovers" because it's all over the internets. the hi quality one will hopefully be available for sale on june 15th, until then here's a download link
I did a new remix for Cee-Lo and it's available for free, online, as part of this weird Adult-Swim ATL remixed thingy. there's also really cool remixes by Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawk, and Mad Decent's DJA. here's the link
wazzzaaap. I haven't posted on this thing in ages. So this afternoon I did a Live At Home mix. just fartin around on the turntables procrastinating on cleaning up the crib. These are some of my favorite jams. I let the songs play out and some of the mixes are sloppy and one of my serato records had a scratch in it so it was skipping on some songs but that's all in the spirit of Live at Home right? I reaaaaalllly wanted to go in on the early 90's R&B but I spared you after a few choice cuts... oh yeah and there's some new Pase exclusive world premiere jams on there... actually just one from me, and then some other randomness... bump it late night, early in the morning... in your hooptie or your big body Benz. It's all to the good.
With tomorrow being a pretty big day here in Berlin maybe its a good idea to post something about Berlin...Watched the first part of this documentary in the van as well. Its pretty awesome. (Keeping your internet tabs open after you have loaded stuff is a great way to take video from the web on the road with you, thanks Darkie D) Thanks for the video 'ol @cullenstalin
Here is a new Disco edit from yours truly. There have been plenty in the works, but this one kind of jumped out at me this week in New York. I hope this works for you and your Serato crates.
... excerpt from footage I've been sifting through for the next video... We've been using the echo mic whenever possible since Alexxx's crazy ass Birthday party Last year.
For those just tuning in, our San Antonio brother JJ Lopez has been a regular on the Fully Fitted blog for some time now. I recently got the request from Mr Devlin to see if Ol' JJ would be interested in doing a Live @ Home mix, and here it is. Seems like we just keep getting deeper and deeper.
Here are some words from JJ...
"I could have done this mix an infinite number of ways. There is just too much great music from this period to capture in one mix. None the less, presented here are a few classics of the mid to late 1970s R&B and Jazz scene. The Mizell Brothers, Curtis Mayfield, Donald Byrd, and the current sounds of El Michels Affair are really the inspiration here. I've made a few popular stops. I have also included the local San Anto sounds of Jimmy Edwards and managed to squeeze in Pi-R-Square, "Fantasy" on Wee for the deep heads. I wanted to do a mix for everyone to enjoy all summer long. It's very much on the deep vibe and just perfect for a hot Texas day, enjoy."

For those that are not in the San Antonio area, you can tune into JJ's radio show every Saturday from 1-3 central standard time on WWW.KRTU.ORG.
While in NY last week working on tunes and things, Ghostdad bought this :
Its an LaTec 100a record mixing console. Two belt driven turntables, rotary mixing knobs, a Tape IN and a Tape OUT. We started messing around with it, smaashing records into one another then decided to record a mix of these old Dancehall 45s AlexxxChange hAd sitting around.
There is no pitch control so you have to just drop tracks and rub your finger on the platter to make things mix. We used the MoogerFooger through the mic input and got some nice delay effects. It's not the newest rig so there is alot of bleed and wierd sound artifacts, but hopefully that adds to the charm.
The secret weapon on this one was the latest patch from GhostLabs: The DadSiren:
Its a really nice little program that mimics the siren emulators built into old JA soundsystems. Read more about that and download it here: DADSIREN
Ghostnotes: Special thanks to George from Javlin who sold me the unit and Bennett4$enate for putting me in touch. Very psyched on this machine. Mods on the way...
We've gotten some requests for these tracks off out fabric live cd. not much "editing" going on here just rapping mostly. this is one of my favorite pase raps ever. check out how he fucks up at around 3:14 then saves it. soooooo dope.
Some people have been asking for blends from a few of the mixes we've done in the past. I'm not big into making blends or mash-ups but ....Heeeeere we go :
Sorry that last post was a total waste of space here's a good one.
The Virgins. A band who, you'd hope, would look like this:
but sadly, they look like this:
and they sound kind of like the strokes. except on dope. or like, the strokes crossed with the modern lovers? anyway I did 2 mixes for them on spec. The first had, according to an Atlantic A&R who will remain unnamed, too many changes, or different parts for a dance song:
"the Atlantic team love the direction you took it in, but as a remix... they feel that there are to many "feelings" aka "moods" to keep the average dance floor patron interested and remembering the song, they would like for you to remove some of the diversity (imagine that) and keep it a straight dance floor song"
A fair piece of criticism. So I redid it, still on spec, and turned in this version which I thought was pretty good:
after I turned this in I was pretty sure it was a wrap but then they came back again this time saying "nowit's toodancey." I was beginning to feel like a rat in a maze and more than a little sick of the song, not to mention I had a sneaking suspicion that maybe they were just fucking with me for the fun of it. so I said "ok give me half the money we agreed on up front and I'll do another mix" (not really intending to do shit except take the money). and that's where we left it.

1) Last week I was trying to track down what I thought was an Emporer Machine song called Profundito. Turns out I had it all wrong. The song is called Profundita, and it's not by The Emporer Machine.
2) I posted a mix last week and didn't know actual name or artist of the last song on the mix. I got the song from Emily Rabbit and when she sent it, there was no artist tag. Luckily, someone named Liquid Vega sorted out the mystery in the comments section after the post.
This truly awesome song is called Loving You Sometimes. Get all the info and the track @ Garage Hangover . how i feel :
I got this mix from Karl Hungus (Shop Gentei Sound System, BBC r.i.p) about a year ago ... I had asked him for a Live at Homemix because his crates are quite deep and he slaughtered Darko and I at the legendary '45 night' at the Ottobar a few years back.(Ron, please post)
He sent me a mix with this attached:
A lil "sompin sompin" i did the night before i went out to japan in January. had a bunch of friends asking me to make a mix for them, some wanted straight club, some wanted biale, some wanted disco, electro etc etc. I didnt have time to make 1 each so i just went up the bpm scale and did it in 1 take. started about 105, and finished up around 130. some joints in there i love, and some i just like. no track listings, cause if your a dj you should know already, and if your not then its not important. you cant really buy any of the songs on cd anyway. just listen and enjoy. i tried and play as many of them from vinyl as i can, some are straight to mp3 though so you know the deal. serato!
